Are We Gonna Work it Out - Sweet Lights
This is simply too good. The track and the video.

Kodachrome (demo) - Guilty Ghosts
A favorite track of mine for a month or so now, Kodachrome, I was shocked to see Guilty Ghosts in my inbox, and honored. Some great ambient tunes are recorded in Brooklyn by Tristan O’Donnell. Using some wonderful layered instruments, Guilty Ghosts creates some wonderful tracks that in my mind come off as unrivaled. Check out Guilty Ghosts, and purchase...

A Ho A Hand - Family
I can dig this track by London natives, Family. They’ve released a few tracks on bandcamp, unfortunately you can only listen right now, but it is worth listening to these tracks. These guys are headed in a great direction. I particularly where they leave us, with the last song being A Ho A Hand, a really nice ballad of sorts. Check it out.

I Don’t Want To - Alex Tedesco
It is storming over my house right now, so I’ve been looking on bandcamp, obviously. I found this. It got released a few months back, and I’m mad I’ve missed these past few months not listening to it. This track has the interesting pop feel to it, with an industrial beat to it, creating a pseudo-witch house feel. Check out the rest of these...

Neon and Night - tonguesanddrums
Listening to this track by tonguesanddrums I feel like I should either (a) be selling cocaine in Miami or (b) I’m in a movie with Dan Akroyd in the 80s. Neither of those are really a bad thing. This track is just so fantastic to listen to, it has a different feel to it than other tracks out there right now. The EP Future Minds is up for free on his...

Denmark - taperecorder
A great little track from some people you all may have heard of. Part of my morning routine is to check out bandcamp, as well as vigorous exercise (today was cardio), and a strict diet of cheese and yogurt, and the occasional piece of lettuce. But I didn’t exercise this morning, and I did not partake in my diet. Instead I sat in front of my speakers and listened to...

Tobacco - Grape Aerosmith (feat. Beck)
I love director Allen Cordell’s penchant for psychedelic zombies. Short n’ sweet track from the recent Anticon release, Maniac Meat.
Very Tim and Eric. I dig this video, and the tunes.

Tracks (Tall Bodies) - Chelsea Wolfe
This is such a great track that I’ve landed on this morning. Its recorded in the perfect way to match the song, and it has some great vocals to go along with the instrumentation. Head over to Chelsea Wolfe’s bandcamp and check out the rest of their tracks, and if you dig it, pick it up for five bucks. Oh yeah, this EP is tagged as...

Canada - Prizes
If you were searching for this band based on their listed influences, it might be tough to find, as Fleetwood Mac and J. Dilla are listed next to each other. The easiest way to paint a picture of what this song sounds like is to say, “I feel like this I’m driving through a tunnel in Europe when I listen to this.” And that doesn’t really sound too bad to me...

Young Girls - Soft Powers
This is a great track from an Atlanta band. Its got limited instrumentation, but just enough to make the song, and vocals provided are just enough to make you interested and really listen. Sounds like a ballad of sorts, and a minor brainwash is going on as well. Check it out first, then head on out and listen to their newer stuff, like Diamond Daggs.

Dream Machine - Tungs
A great track by a local Richmond band. Psychedelic elements mixed with some punk progressions, and interesting vocals. They have some awesome sounds on this release, go ahead and get the free download off their bandcamp, and enjoy. For anyone in the Richmond area, they have a couple shows coming up, you can check the dates out on their MySpace.

Run Overdrive - Civil Civic
A nice instrumental track. Some layered distorted guitar, and some punk elements to it, coming straight out of the UK, nice work on this short release, Run Overdrive/Fuck Youth. Check out these two free tunes from Civil Civic and then head over to listen to their longer EP, 1. I promise you’ll be intrigued.

Walkin’ on the Beast - Camden
Some pretty awesome tunes coming from the Boston band, Camden. Its kind of a crazy pop mixed with trip music and some nice beats going in the background. This EP, Vale, is stacked with some good listening, and the best thing is that its free on their bandcamp. Interesting artwork for the cover as well, definitely worth checking them out. Also check out...

Peat - Moss of Aura
Made this after listening to Moss of Aura’s March for a very long time now. Saw him earlier in the year with Pictureplane, Small Black, and Washed Out. It was a great show, and he was the best way the show could have started.

Ryan Adams Recording New Solo Albums, Preps...
twentyfourbit:
The moment in which I officially lost track of all the new Ryan Adams albums being prepped for distribution, remixed, or recorded as of this morning was a thing of beauty as a constant flurry of activity from one of my favorite living singer-songwriters is something I grew accustomed to in the 00s and simply cannot live (happily) without. Fortunately, Adams has provided plenty of...

Happiest Lion
Happiest Lion, made up of one being, Caleb Groh, has released a album titled Mammoth Moon. It has some great tunes on, fourteen in fact, and reminds me a lot of Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, and occasionally, of Adams’ former band, Whiskeytown. Check out the lyrical genius that is Happiest Lion and go pick up his album, Mammoth Moon.

here’s an awesome video collage for COOLRUNNINGS’ i am you created by gunnar andersson, which is probably my favorite song from them thus far. some sensual and dreamy imagery to match a sensual and dreamy song. someone really needs to start a fuckyeahvideocollages.tumblr.com or something.
Perfect video for the song, really, really well done.

Silverscreen - The Great Wilderness
Loving this track right now, the others on this EP aren’t too bad either. I’d definitely give them a shot, its not bad listening by any stretch. Reminds me a little of when The Smashing Pumpkins were actually good, and a reputable band to allude to in a statement such as this. Check them out on their bandcamp.

Neo Tokyo - Alright the Captain
Just shot into my inbox after the post the other day about Aged Yummy. I love this change in my music library. Check out Alright the Captain, and download their EP for free here. This track really reminds me of Piglet’s Lava Land EP, which I dig.

Give Me a Summary - Aged Yummy
I’ve kind of always been a sucker for good math rock type stuff. This grabbed me because its math rock without being pompous about it. Its riffs ring out as surf riffs, the vocals are just awesome, lyrics are up to par, making some nice tunes. Check it out.
